What is SafeForester App (Rave App Armor)?

A free mobile safety app designed to enhance campus security, emergency communication, and individual protection. Available for iOS and Android.

Key Features

Emergency Call Button - Instantly connects users to Public Safety or 911 based on location. (Mobile BlueLight- Geographical mapping)
Safety Timer (Virtual Escort) - Lets users set a countdown monitored by Public Safety or trusted contacts.
Anonymous Tip Reporting - Secure, encrypted submission of concerns with optional image/text.
Campus Alerts & Notifications - Receive real-time emergency alerts and safety updates.
Quick Access to Resources - Links to emergency procedures, mental health support, Title IX, and campus maps.

User Responsibilities

Register with your Lake Forest College email for full access.
Use responsibly - false reports or misuse can result in disciplinary action.
Maintain your app - keep it updated for optimal performance.

Public Safety Responsibilities

Monitor app alerts and tips during operational hours.
Respond based on urgency; coordinate with emergency services.
Protect privacy - location data accessed only when safety features are active.

In Case of Emergency

Activate the Emergency Call or Safety Timer.
- Public Safety responds immediately - via physical contact, dispatch, or coordination with services.

Privacy & Data Security

Fully encrypted communication.
- No continuous location tracking.
- Anonymous tip reporting without collecting personal data.

Campus Engagement

Promoted during orientation, RA training, and outreach events. Ongoing collaboration with Student Affairs, ITS, and Residence Life.

Violations

Misuse may lead to conduct action or suspension of app privileges.

This program provides 24/7 remote mental health and wellbeing support, empowering students to access self-directed digital resources and the opportunity to connect with experienced clinical professionals who specialize in the unique challenges faced by college students. This service is free for students and aims to enhance their well-being and retention while studying at Lake Forest College, complementing our existing campus resources.
