Join us for the Krebs Center for the Humanities Lecture with New York Times technology columnist and author Kevin Roose in conversation with Davis Schneiderman, Executive Director of the Krebs Center for the Humanities, presented with the Oppenheimer Family Foundation.
Roose's latest book Futureproof: 9 Rules for Humans in the Age of AI is a guide to surviving the technological future.

Timeless Sitar Eternal Rhythm: An Evening of Enchanting Indian Classical Music
Friday, October 3 at 7 p.m. in Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel
Join us for an evening of exceptional Indian classical music by Artists in Residence Sitar Virtuoso Purbayan Chatterjee and Tabla Maestro Amit Kavthekar.
Purbayan Chatterjee is known as India's leading sitar maestro, who specializes in building bridges between different world genres and leads the band Classicool. Amit Kavthekar was trained in the coveted arts of Tabla playing by the legend Ustad Alla Rakha and is also a prolific music educator, teaching at the New England School of Music in Boston.
This event is presented by the Provost's office in collaboration with the Artists in Residence Committee.

Rosemary Hale Lecture
Thursday, October 9 at 5 p.m. in Brown Hall, Tarble Room
At the third annual Rosemary Hale Lecture, Ernest A Johnson Professor of Economics Emeritus Rob Baade will present a talk titled, "Getting Into the Games: Is the Gamble on Sport as a Stimulus for Economic Development a Good Bet?"
An economics professor at Lake Forest College for nearly 50 years until his retirement in 2022, Baade was well known for his excellence in the classroom. He is internationally renowned for his seminal research on the economic impact of sports on local economies and has spoken at events for international sports organizations, such as FIFA and the International Olympic Committee, and at global sporting events, including multiple Olympic games.
Guests are invited to attend a reception following the lecture.

Visit the Forest during a weekend showcasing the Lake Forest College at its best! Registration gives you access to exclusive Homecoming events including the President's Welcome Reception and Alumni Art Exhibit Opening, bonfire on the quad, Fan Fest, football vs. the Beloit Buccaneers, and more.

The Arcadian Wild: A Musical Salon
Friday, October 24 at 7 p.m. in Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel
Enjoy an evening of music warmly hosted by Mimi and College Trustee Bob Murlsey. This special musical salon will feature a performance by bluegrass trio The Arcadian Wild.
