Lake Forest College to inaugurate Dr. Mike Sosulski as 15th President
Lake Forest College will formally inaugurate Dr. Michael “Mike” Sosulski as its 15th president at 3 p.m. Friday, April 10.
The ceremony will take place in the Sports and Recreation Center on the College’s South Campus, 555 N. Sheridan Rd., Lake Forest, IL. Additional details, including livestream information, are available here.
The inauguration will feature an academic procession and an address by President Sosulski, followed by a reception.
Dr. Sosulski assumed the presidency on August 11, 2025, after serving as president of Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, from 2021 to 2025. His tenure there was marked by significant investments in student housing, sustainability, and academic innovation, as well as strong growth in enrollment and philanthropic support.
Previously, Dr. Sosulski served as Provost and Professor of German at Wofford College, where he led major academic institutional initiatives. He also held faculty and administrative roles at Kalamazoo College.
Dr. Sosulski holds a Bachelor of Science in German from Georgetown University and both a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Germanic Studies from the University of Chicago. He and his wife, Dr. Cori Crane, Associate Professor of German at the University of Alabama, have two adult sons.
The Lake Forest College Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Sosulski in July 2025 following a national search.
