Lake Forest College offers direct-admittance programs with RFU in both 3+4 and 4+4 pathways.

Direct Entry from High School (Lake Forest College and Rosalind Franklin University)

Students will be eligible to apply for admission in accordance with the following:

  • Gain admittance to Lake Forest College.
  • Achieve a 3.2/4.0 or higher unweighted cumulative GPA in high school academic coursework.
  • Complete four years of science, including Biology and Chemistry, with a cumulative grade of B or better in each course or its equivalent. Physics is recommended.
  • Complete three or more years of college preparatory math including Algebra or Advanced Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry with a cumulative grade of B or better in each course or its equivalent.
  • Submit additional information including, but not limited to, LFC Common Application, RFU and/or PharmD supplemental application and questions, if any, and other required materials. Successful applicants will be invited to an interview in accordance with the Admissions Procedures below.
3+4 Pathway (Lake Forest College and Rosalind Franklin University)

 Spend three years at Lake Forest College, graduate with your BA, and proceed to RFU for a four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program.

4+4 Pathway (Lake Forest College and Rosalind Franklin University)

Complete your BA at Lake Forest College in 4 years before moving on to RFU to complete your Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Early conditional acceptance

Students interested in pursuing a pathway program through Lake Forest College and Rosalind Franklin University can secure their spot at RFU before graduating from high school. Early conditional acceptance is granted to those who have applied and been approved by a combined committee from Lake Forest and Rosalind Franklin and must continue to meet the academic requirements of the program to continue on to Rosalind Franklin.

In 2025, the median pay for pharmacists was $140,910 per year. A Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required to become a licensed pharmacist.

What is direct-entry?

Direct-entry is a pathway that allows students to apply to both Lake Forest College and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science’s Doctor of Pharmacy program while still in high school. 

What are the requirements for the direct-entry program?
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50/4.0 (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of math including Algebra, Advanced Algebra, Geometry, and/or Trigonometry with a cumulative B average (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of science including Biology and Chemistry with a cumulative B average (or equivalent). Physics is strongly recommended.
Are there additional materials needed to be considered for the direct-entry program?
  • There is a supplemental application that will be emailed after your application to Lake Forest College is received. 
  • Successful applicants to the program will be invited to interview with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and Lake Forest College faculty.
What if I am admitted to Lake Forest but not Rosalind Franklin, can I still pursue Pharmacy?

Yes, our Health Professions program prepares students who are not admitted through the direct-entry pathway to become strong, competitive applicants for DPT programs, including both traditional and accelerated options, while they are here.
