Lake Forest College uses automated accessibility checkers and manuals reviews to identify and fix accessibility issues on all of our websites.
What's been happening?
Lake Forest College has been working with its CMS vendor to identify and fix accessibility issues on lakeforest.edu. These range from editorial issues like missing link titles and alt text that we have fixed, to structural issues such as navigability that the vendor has fixed.
Our web vendor identified these issues in the past, but until now we have lacked the capability to comprehensively identify these issues ourselves.
What comes next?
Lake Forest College has invested in digital accessibility software to proactively identify problems on its websites. The administrators and managers of each of these websites will work with content creators to fix issues and improve the digital experience for everyone.
Who is responsible for web accessibility?
Ultimate responsibility lies with the managers and administrators of all of our websites, but anyone who creates digital content will need to contribute to this effort.
