U.S. News ranked Lake Forest College #62 for Best National Liberal Arts College—up 13 points in one year and an all-time best for the College. The College’s ranking has improved substantially since 2011 when it rated #105 on the Best National Liberal Arts College list. 

Lake Forest College ranked even better on the new Top Private Colleges list, debuting at #59.  

And the good news continued with U.S. News ranking Lake Forest College #10 Best Value College—up one spot from last year—and #1 for Social Mobility, up two spots from #3 last year.

For its Best Value list, U.S. News evaluated a school’s academic quality and net cost of attendance for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid.

Social Mobility measures how well a college helps students build a better economic future for themselves and their families. Lake Forest College has ranked among the best in the nation on this important category since U.S. News debuted the category in its 2020 ranking.

Lake Forest College has experienced a consistent upward trend in national rankings over the past several years, reflecting the College’s continued focus on providing a rigorous undergraduate education that prepares students for meaningful and rewarding careers.

“This fall, we saw the results of this rising reputation with the largest incoming class in the College’s 169-year history,” President Mike Sosulski said. “The secret’s out: something great is happening here at Lake Forest College, and we’re proving it every day.”
