Lifelong Learning Series: The State of American Democracy
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This series of events looks to shine a light on the current state of American democracy, both problems and potential solutions.
Registration Deadline is Tuesday, September 1
Series dates and times: Tuesday evenings, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Glen Rowan House | Sep 8, Sep 15, Sep 22, Oct 6, Oct 13. Only the September 8 and October 13 courses have a reception beforehand.
Held at the newly renovated Glen Rowan House, this series explores both the constraints on democracy—such as recent democratic backsliding, the Constitution’s roadblocks on majority rule, and the weakening of voting rights to name a few—and strategies to overcome them and enhance democracy in America. Each week will highlight a new topic and begin with a social reception featuring food and refreshments.
Both the educational content and social receptions will offer opportunities to build community, engage with College leadership, and learn more about ongoing campus initiatives.
