5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Sonnenschein and Albright Galleries, Durand Art Institute

In this exhibition you will explore the truths, assumptions, blind spots, and surprises found when an artificial intelligence model applies Computer Vision to the Lake Forest College art collection. Using a Large Language Model to interpret our artworks, this collaborative experiment illustrates the strengths and weaknesses of this new way of seeing and the persistent need for the critical engagement of an educated public.

Curator: Professor Kimiko Matsumura, Assistant Professor of Art History at Lake Forest College, and Avanel Ford, Lake Forest College, class of ’26
