How did you choose your area of study?

I chose to blend international relations and art history because I was interested in becoming a more educated citizen of an increasingly global world and pursuing my passion for fine arts.

What did you think of the faculty?

I learned a great deal during my time as an international relations major. I also appreciated the faculty In The Loop. My internship adviser checked in with me regularly and encouraged me to pursue opportunities that came my way.

What was your favorite part about living in the Loop?

Studying in the Loop was one of the best decisions I made at Lake Forest College. It was the perfect transition for me, from living abroad, to returning to undergraduate life.

I had a fantastic, supportive group of people in the Loop. The hostel staff, Kim, Damon, Kyle…everyone always said hello and generously shared all their wisdom about where to find the best, least expensive food. But mainly it was the experience of living in a great location and having access to a more independent lifestyle than could be found on campus.

More information to share?

Living in the Loop and interning in the city were invaluable experiences for me, both personally and as a young professional. I highly encourage every undergraduate to consider living an interning in the Loop before you graduate—it’s worth it.
