With new offerings, cafeteria opens on schedule

April 12, 2011

Construction was completed in time for the return of students on a much-anticipated expansion of the Margie and Gus Hart Dining Hall, which added 3,500 square feet of space to the facility with 180 additional seats. Despite area-wide power failures and excessive heat during the summer, construction was completed in time to welcome new and returning Foresters to campus.

The new configuration includes tables for two, four, and six diners along with booth seating. In addition, it includes separate stations for pizza, a Mongolian grill, deli, produce, Euro Kitchen, Home Zone, and desserts.

Construction was managed by Pepper Construction, the firm that built the College’s Sports and Recreation Center. The architects are Beacon Architectural Associates of Boston with Michael Coleman, lead architect, and Christopher Eberly, project architect.

The entire $4.1-million project has been made possible thanks to funding provided by Aramark Educational Services LLC, in consideration of a long-term extension of ARAMARK’s food service contract with the College.
