Professors: More Than Your Teachers

January 24, 2013

Professors at Lake Forest College know their students by name and work closely with them to conduct research, write and publish papers, and more.

Students and alumni continually cite the quality of the faculty and personal attention from them as one of the defining strengths of a Lake Forest education.

Professors do all of the teaching and advising, not teaching assistants, and the average class size of 19 promotes discussion and dialogue.

“We believe education and learning is most effective when it’s predicated on close interaction between faculty and student — a relationship between faculty and student — that can be transformative in terms of the student experience,” said Dean of Faculty Michael Orr.
