After eliminating three top-25 teams from the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, the Forester softball team will host Alma College in the Super Regionals this weekend.

The best-of-three series will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, May 15. Game two is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16. If necessary, a decisive third game will be played at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Lake Forest enters the super regional round with a record of 35-9. The Foresters posted a 13-2 record in Midwest Conference play and earned a spot in the national tourney by winning the MWC Championship Tournament on May 2.

Lake Forest was a host site for last week’s NCAA Division III Regionals and, after falling 3-2 to North Central College in the opening round on May 7, the Foresters defeated the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater by the same score in 11 innings on May 8. A rematch with North Central was next and the home team came out on top 2-1, although the final two outs of the game did not occur until Saturday morning due to a weather delay. Lake Forest then knocked off Hope College 4-1 and 2-0 that afternoon to claim the regional tournament title.

Alma is 28-15 on the season and completed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association portion of its 2015 schedule with a record of 12-4. The Scots reached the final of the MIAA Championship Tournament but were defeated in extra innings by Trine University. After receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, Alma swept through the Bloomington, Illinois Regional by defeating Illinois Wesleyan University 1-0 in eight innings and Simpson College 2-1. The Scots took on Simpson again in the championship and won 8-0.

The winners of the eight super regionals will advance to the national finals, which will be played May 21–26 in Salem, Virginia.
