Fifty Years Since 1968: What’s Changed? A Panel Discussion
50 years since 1968 panel
Dr. Courtney Joseph, Dr. Cristina Groeger, and Dr. Rudi Batzell spoke to a packed room in Meyer Auditorium about the legacies of 1968.
This year was a key turning point in the struggle for civil rights, marked a new era of immigration reform, and represented the beginning of a new economic trend: rising social inequality and the concentration of wealth among a small elite. Our history faculty gave brief presentations on these three topics to consider the question: what has changed, and what has stayed the same, since 1968? After the presentation, a lively discussion followed among students, faculty, staff, as well as members of the broader community that came to join us. You can watch the full event here.
