Davis Schneiderman spends spring break in Europe

March 11, 2014

The Associate Dean of the Faculty is spending his week in Denmark performing and lecturing.

Schneiderman was called to Denmark to celebrate the republishing of his 2004 co-edited anthology “Retaking the Universe: William S. Burroughs in the Age of Globalization” by RealityStudio.org, the main web site honoring American writer William S. Burroughs. This is the 10-year anniversary of Schneiderman’s book as well as the Burroughs centennial.

Schneiderman made a stop in Copenhagen for an event at Forfatterskolen/The Danish Academy of Creative Writing on March 10; he presented a lecture on new-media/mash-ups/cut-ups at Aalborg University on March 11, and he presented at two events at Aarhus University on March 12: “Collage, Remix, Mash-Up: A Workshop for the Digital Age” and “Call All Active Agents: The Performer-as-Long Distance Runner.”

He will wrap up his trip on March 13 with one event at Aarhus called “Aspects of Creative Writing,” during which he addresses his most recent novel [SIC].
